Web Site Privacy Agreement
Renaissance
Lawyer Society is committed to maintaining your privacy and we want to share
our commitment with you.
If you have any questions whatsoever
about our privacy policy, or if you ever believe that we are not abiding by our privacy
policy, please contact us immediately at webmaster@renaissancelawyer.com.
Please
take a moment to read our privacy policy.
The
Information We Collect:
§
Forms You Fill Out:
This is the most obvious information that we collect, the
information you give us when you fill out forms on our site.
Typically, this will include your contact information such as email address, name,
address, etc. We may ask for demographic information so we can share opportunities or
offers that are more personalized to you. Sometimes it includes credit card information
that is received in a secure order form.
§
Special Offers:
Sometimes we create special offers and ask that you register.
These may vary from surveys to contests to special newsletters.
In these offers, we will tell you how we will use the information, whether it will
be used in any way beyond the special offer.
§
Cookies:
Cookies are messages that our server for the Web site gives to
your Web browser. Your browser then stores the message in a file called cookie.txt.
Every time your browser requests a page from our server, the server and browser
exchange information. When you fill out the form on our site, this information is stored
for later use. Cookies help us identify visitors who have returned to the site and allow
us to customize your viewing. For example, the site might greet you by name or remember
information you put into the form.
§
Log Files:
In addition to your email address and user name, you have an
Internet Protocol (IP) address that consists of a series of numbers. We use IP addresses
to track trends, to collect statistics, to know where our traffic is coming from, and to
gather broad demographic information. We don’t tie the IP addresses to your personal
information, so we don’t know whose IP address is whose.
Who is
collecting the information:
We are Renaissance Lawyer Society and we are the people
who are collecting your personal information. We
do have links from our web site to others; however, we are not responsible for the privacy
practices of other web sites that are linked to us. We encourage you to read the privacy
statements of every web site and to ask questions if something is not clear.
Please note that our privacy policy applies to our site only.
How we
will use the information:
When you give us information about you, you go onto our mailing
list. From time to time, we will send you updates on the website, about products and
services, newsletters, and other email. You may “unsubscribe” or opt out of these
mailings at any time. Each mailing has instructions on how to do so.
Sometimes, we may hear of offers from other companies that are
similar and that we think you might be interested in hearing about. We will send you
information about those offers, through our own email lists. Some of these offers may be
tailored to the information you gave us when you registered and some may be more general.
With
whom we may share the information:
When you give us information, it becomes our property. We
won’t sell, rent, lease, or give our mailing lists or your personal information to
anyone else unless we have communicated with you in advance.
(For example, if one of our special offers is in conjunction with another company,
we will tell you that that other company will get your information.)
We may share the aggregate, demographic information we collect
from the IP addresses with potential advertisers and others. This does not include your
personally identifiable information.
We sometimes use a credit card processing company and a
shipping company for processing orders of products and services. We will share the contact
information necessary to process your card or ship your product but we will not share your
other personal information with them.
What
choices you have about collection, use, and distribution of the information:
You always have the opportunity to opt out of our mailings.
Each email will give instructions about being taken off the list. If you want to buy a
product from us and do not wish to be placed on our mailing list, you will also be given
the opportunity to “opt out” by communicating at the time of the purchase.
If
our policy changes, we will contact you and give you the opportunity to opt out before we
share our subscriber/purchasers lists with outside companies.
The
security procedures that protect the loss, misuse or alteration of the information:
All
of us in e-commerce are concerned about the security of your financial and other
confidential information. We want to protect your information. When you submit sensitive
information on our Web site, we take extra precautions to protect its security.
We
use a secure site for accepting the information. It is encrypted. We also take steps to
protect that information off line. All of that information is closely protected in our
offices and only those with a “need to know” (such as accounting personnel who bill
credit card companies) will have access to the information.
Often,
we use a professional card processing agent with high security protocols and a national
reputation as a further level of protection for you.
If
for any reason you find that your personal information needs to corrected or updated,
please email us at Webmaster@RenaissanceLawyer.com.
For
residents of the European Union:
If
you reside in the European Union, please indicate your consent that the personal
information you have provided may be transferred and stored in countries outside the EU,
including the United States. If you fail to provide your consent, we cannot proceed.
By continuing to use this website, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy.
