We know how it is to be a lawyer. We know that you went to law school because you were called toward something. Part of our job is to help you remember what you were called to and to empower you to achieve that, to remind you that the legal system is an organic process that can respond to our needs and those of our clients.
We have a vision of a legal system that is based on problem-solving, healing conflicts, and supporting us all in working and living together in peace. We don't have as many answers as we have questions and we invite you to engage in them with us. How DO we live together, work together, avoid misunderstandings, resolve those that inevitably come up, and encourage integrity in ourselves and others? What if the legal system is a resource for creating whole, vibrant, loving communities? For healing and transforming? What if lawyers could be honored for their service and we were able to express our creativity and brilliance in working with our clients? What if the goal for the lawyer is to craft a solution where everyone wins?
There is a movement in the law toward a more visionary, humanistic approach to the law. Lawyers all over the world are hearing the call and many are beginning to explore new options for practicing law and serving their communities.
The Renaissance Lawyer Society is here as a support to those who are answering the call, who are ready to begin the journey toward creating the new legal system, a new paradigm where everyone always wins.Our Values

Renaissance Lawyer Society is here to help create a legal system that works for everyone by bringing together lawyers; other members of the legal community; and all others interested in the law and the legal system, for mutual support, networking, education, and dialogue concerning the overall advancement and development of a healthy society through intelligent implementation of the rule of law. Renaissance Lawyer Society works towards these objectives by, among other things:
· Serving as a clearinghouse for information and resources;
· Helping lawyers and other legal professionals to experience satisfaction and joy in the law;
· Developing a dialogue among groups with similar interests;
· Providing a platform for exchange of ideas promoting understanding, collaboration, and cooperation in the legal community;
· Educating the general public about the healing power of the law and respectful conflict resolution, carried out through both the traditional judicial system of zealous advocacy and alternative resolution approaches, applied with the highest integrity; and
· Helping members achieve personal, spiritual, and intellectual growth while developing a higher level of respect for themselves and their role in society.Our Mission
Renaissance Lawyer's mission is to interact with other lawyers and the whole legal community, to change and grow as authentic and honest persons, in the same way that lawyers lead change and interact with society to create a better world for all that is: healthy, diverse, creative, and respectful of human rights and values.
The invigoration of the soul of the law demands that the legal community and individual lawyers seek: creative solutions, peace-making methods, healing of the community.
We seek to bring law and the legal community, its values and practices, into alignment with the gains of progress and social development in the whole of modern society.
